From Ideas to Implementation: Policy Dialogue II of the BEGUMI Public Participation Wikithon

The Public Participation Wikithon Program organized by BASAibu Wiki-NTB aims to strengthen and encourage youth engagement in regional development through a collaborative, educational, and participatory approach. Through digital competitions, policy dialogues, and local language-based platforms, the program creates opportunities for young people to share ideas and propose solutions to social issues across West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Policy Dialogue II of the Public Participation Wikithon served as a continuation of the first policy dialogue, which produced policy recommendations on sustainable tourism. While the first dialogue focused on generating ideas and developing recommendations through multi-sector discussions, the second dialogue was specifically designed to discuss implementation plans together with directly involved partners.

This event provided a platform for Wikithon participants to present the programs that had gone through the incubation process while opening opportunities for practical collaboration with stakeholders to bring their ideas into action.

Policy Dialogue II was conducted in two separate sessions. The first session took place in Lantan Village on 19 May 2026, focusing on the implementation plan for the From Waste to Worth program in collaboration with the Lantan Village Government and the local Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). The second session was held with Rinjani-Lombok UNESCO Global Geopark on 26 May 2026, connecting Wikithon participants with Rinjani-Lombok UNESCO Global Geopark and the Tourism Awareness Group of Batu Mekar Village.

Both dialogues resulted in concrete agreements regarding implementation mechanisms, role distribution, and program implementation timelines. The process was further marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between Youth ECCO Indonesia Foundation, as the implementing organization of the BASAibu Wiki-NTB program, and Rinjani-Lombok UNESCO Global Geopark. This agreement reflects a shared commitment to cross-sector collaboration in supporting sustainable tourism development in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
