EV Village & Solar-Powered Charging Station
Bringing Clean Mobility to Rural Indonesia
In April 2023, ECCO Foundation took a bold step toward a cleaner, greener future for rural Indonesia transforming Desa Genggelang into one of the country's first EV Villages. In partnership with ALVA One and EMiTS, ECCO introduced two electric vehicles for shared use by village residents and local government officials, giving the community direct, everyday access to emission-free transportation.
Powered by solar panels donated by EMiTS, the EV charging station built alongside this initiative became one of the first solar-powered EV charging points in any village across Nusa Tenggara Barat a tangible proof-of-concept that clean energy and electric mobility are not just for cities.
Program Highlights:
- Two ALVA One EVs deployed for community and government use in Desa Genggelang
- One of the first solar-powered EV charging stations in rural NTB, built in partnership with EMiTS
- Demonstrated a scalable model for clean transportation in Indonesian villages
