Bringing Literacy and Learning to Every Doorstep
In collaboration with Pemerintah Desa Genggelang, ECCO Foundation launched the Sopoq Angen Mobile Library a community-driven mobile library initiative that has been active since November, 2025 and was officially inaugurated on February 14, 2026. "Sopoq Angen," meaning meeting of hearts in the local Sasak language, reflects the program's core mission: bringing inclusive, accessible, and community-rooted literacy services directly to children and youth across the hamlets of Desa Genggelang, especially those without easy access to formal library facilities.
Integrated with the ECCO English program, Sopoq Angen creates a holistic weekly learning ecosystem that combines reading, language development, and community empowerment in one place.
Program Highlights:
- Mobile library services operating regularly across 5 hamlets in Desa Genggelang every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, in coordination with ECCO English sessions.
- Local youth trained and actively engaged as library operators and literacy facilitators.
- Fully integrated with ECCO English to provide a comprehensive weekly learning experience for all community members.
